PRIVACY POLICY
Malabar Storyteller respects the privacy of visitors, guests and people who contact us about guided experiences in North Malabar. This Privacy Policy explains what information we may collect, why we use it, when it may be shared and the choices available to you.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
When you send an enquiry through this website, we may collect information you choose to provide, including your name, email address, phone number, area of interest, subject and message.
If you continue with trip planning or make a booking, you may also provide information such as travel dates, number of travellers, itinerary preferences, accommodation or transport requirements, accessibility needs, dietary or other practical requirements, and other details reasonably necessary to plan or provide the requested experience.
Limited technical information such as IP address, request information and server logs may also be processed where necessary for website operation, security, spam prevention and rate limiting.
Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is genuinely necessary for your travel arrangements and has been requested for that purpose.
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We may use information you provide to:
- respond to enquiries;
- understand your travel interests;
- prepare and discuss itineraries;
- communicate about bookings;
- coordinate agreed travel services;
- provide guest support;
- maintain appropriate business and transaction records;
- protect the website and services from misuse; and
- meet applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
We do not sell or rent personal information.
We do not add enquiry details to unrelated promotional mailing lists without an appropriate basis or permission.
BOOKING AND TRAVEL PARTNERS
Some experiences may involve independent third parties such as accommodation providers, transport operators, ticketing providers, activity operators, restaurants or other local service providers.
Where reasonably necessary to arrange services requested by you, we may share only the information required for that arrangement.
Those independent providers may process information under their own privacy practices and legal obligations.
We may also use hosting, database, storage, communications and other technology providers to operate the website and business. Access to personal information should be limited to what is reasonably necessary for those services.
We may disclose information where required by applicable law, a lawful government request, court order or other valid legal process.
WHATSAPP, EMAIL, TELEPHONE AND EXTERNAL SERVICES
If you contact Malabar Storyteller through WhatsApp, email, telephone, social media or another external service, information sent through that service may also be subject to that provider's own privacy terms.
Links on this website may lead to independently operated third-party websites or services. Malabar Storyteller is not responsible for their privacy practices.
PAYMENTS
Where an advance or other payment is required, the payment method and instructions will be communicated during the booking process.
If a bank, payment service or payment gateway is used, that provider may process payment information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Malabar Storyteller does not ask visitors to submit complete payment-card credentials through the public enquiry form.
COOKIES AND TRACKING
The public website is not intended to use advertising or behavioural-tracking technologies merely to build marketing profiles about visitors.
Essential technical functionality and services may use cookies, logs or similar technical mechanisms where necessary to operate or secure the service.
If analytics, advertising or other material tracking technologies are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy should be updated to explain what is used and why.
DATA RETENTION
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to enquiries, providing booked services, maintaining legitimate business records, resolving disputes, and meeting accounting, tax or other legal obligations.
When information is no longer reasonably required, it may be deleted or anonymised, subject to applicable legal retention requirements.
SECURITY
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and services provided.
Access to enquiry and booking information is intended to be limited to authorised persons who need it for legitimate operational purposes.
No website, database or electronic communication system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so absolute security cannot be promised.
YOUR REQUESTS AND CHOICES
You may contact Malabar Storyteller if you want to ask about personal information held about you, correct inaccurate information, request deletion of information that is no longer required to be retained, withdraw a consent you previously provided, or ask us to stop optional promotional communication.
Requests remain subject to applicable law and any legitimate booking, accounting, legal or dispute-resolution obligation that requires information to be retained.
As Indian data-protection requirements continue through their notified commencement timetable, this policy may be updated to reflect additional applicable rights, obligations and procedures.
CHILDREN
Our website and guided travel services are generally arranged by adults. We do not intentionally seek unnecessary personal information directly from children.
Where information about a child is reasonably necessary for a family booking, the parent, guardian or responsible adult should provide only the information required for the travel arrangement.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, technology or applicable legal requirements change.
The latest version will be published on this page with its updated date.
